print & textile workshops

about me

I am a creative, innovative and experienced teacher of Art and Design.  Having worked with young people in Secondary Education for many years, I am now able to offer a range of print and textile workshops in my studio between Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

My inspiration comes from a variety of sources.  Natural forms, seed heads and pods, shells, found and discarded objects. I collect vintage fabrics and re-cycled materials, buttons, beads and lace. I love experimentation and enjoy the unexpected results that this brings.

Whilst living in Tanzania I was lucky enough to spend time working with local tribal printmakers and drew ideas from the bold, bright prints they produced. This inspired me to set up a print course for the local ex-patriot community.

Basic materials and equipment were enough for the group to produce some excellent printed fabric, which was used to make curtains, cushions and tablecloths.

I am always happy to give additional time to those wishing to further develop their skills through sketech pads and expand specific techniques at home.

As a Qualified Art Teacher, I also offer up to date guidance, advice and support to secondary students. Please feel free to contact me and I can tailor a workshop or a short series of workshops to suit individual requirements.
